Toliet Cleaner

I couldn't believe it when I read how incredibly easy it is to make your own toilet cleaner. Really you need next to nothing and I swear to God it works just as well, if not better, than that crap you have to buy at the store. Plus there's no crazy smell which gives me a headache. I got this recipe from hazeltreefarm.com

1. Tip about a tablespoon of bicarb soda (baking soda) into the bowl. Using the toilet brush, scrub at any stains or marks until they disappear.

2. Flush. Leave for a couple of minutes until the water has settled.

3. Next, pour about a tablespoon of white vinegar into the bowl, and scrub again to distribute the vinegar. Leave for five minutes.

4. Flush again. You're done.

Foam Soap Recipe

Ok hand soap is expensive and no matter the brand my hands feel super dry so I have to cake on the lotion. There has to be a better way right? Well yes of course there is! Making homemade foam soap is SUPER easy and really effective. I don't get dry hands anymore. Granted I do admit that I miss good smelling soap but oh well, can't complain when I spent next to nothing on the following recipe.

Foam Soap Recipe

3-4 tablespoons liquid hand soap (I use liquid Castile soap)
2/3 cup warm water (I like distilled but tap water works)

Mix the soap with the water and viola! You have dirt cheap homemade hand soap. I just bought a liquid hand soap container and used it up. Then I made this recipe.

Natural Homemade Deodorant

Deodorant that's homemade? No way! That can't be real. I mean c'mon, I'm just gonna smell right? Well no! I'll admit I had the same reaction at first and get the same reaction everyday when people find out I make my own deodorant. I get stares and I can't just tell they think I'm nuts. But who cares! It's dirt cheap (once you get all the ingredients) and it works WAY better than any store brand I've bought. I've always had to buy 'extra strength' formulas, forking over around $5 a pop. But good bye to blowing my money on deodorant. This works much better and it's better for me. Props to bonzaiaphrodite.com for whipping this up.

Here's the recipe:

Sayward’s Homemade Deodorant Recipe

1/3 cup Corn Starch

1/3 cup Baking Soda

10 drops of Antibacterial Essential Oil (tea tree, lavender, or eucalyptus)

10 drops of Antifungal Essential Oil (tea tree, peppermint, sandalwood, or eucalyptus)

2 tablespoons Vitamin E Oil

3 tablespoons Coconut Oil

Mix everything up in a bowl until it forms a thick paste. Transfer to your storage container and then allow 24 hours to ‘set up’. I used an old deodorant container ’cause it looks so cute and I thought it was neat, but I don’t recommend it. In the future I’ll be using a shallow, wide-mouthed jar, applying the deo with my fingertips.

Eco-Friendly Tooth Whitener

I'm disturbed by my yellowish teeth but I don't plan on giving up coffee anytime soon. So what am I to do? I've thought about buying one of those over the country whitening kits but not only are they butt expensive, they're also out of my price range. How about I try this instead?

Tooth Whitener Recipe

-75% Lemon Juice
-25% Salt

I'll let you know how this goes down. I plan on testing it out tonight.
